STEVE FEDORUK
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our husband & father, Steve Fedoruk.
Steve passed away at the age of 70 years, on Saturday, December 13, 2014, with his family by his side.
He is survived by his wife Vickie, children: Debbie (Stuart), Steven (Michele), and step children: Larry (Jackie), Brenda, and Allan (Helen); 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Steve was predeceased by both his parents and a brother.
Steve was born in Gretna, where he lived and grew up with his three sisters, Mary, Jennifer, and Georgie, and his brother Peter.
Steve worked at Aetna Garment Co in Altona. From there he went to work for CN, and then went on to work in the telecommunication division of CN. He worked there for over 25 years. Later he worked for Tri-Clad designs in Lorette, MB, where he and Vickie reside.
Steve was an avid hunter, gardener, and crafter. Steve’s biggest passion was his tomatoes. When he got his first red tomato, he could not wait to tell everyone. Steve was always ready to lend a hand to family and friends in his garage building something from silhouettes of people or horses, which are displayed in yards of family and friends, to planters and birdhouses.
The family would like to give a big thank you to the doctors and nurses at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, who were compassionate and caring, right up to his passing.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20, at 10:00 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 162 Hwy 52W, Steinbach, MB, with reception to follow. Interment will take place at Gretna Cemetery, following the reception.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a memory donation may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160-675 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
