Margareta Dueck, at the age of 99 years, formally of Tourond and New Bothwell, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, November 13, 2014 at her place of residence in Grunthal Menno Home.
Margareta was born to Gerhard and Maria Falk on January 24, 1915 in Rhineland MB. She was the fifth of six children. Mom married John S. Dueck on November 4, 1934. They lived together at various places throughout their 46 plus years. Mom was baptized upon confession of her faith in her Lord Jesus Christ and she lived out her faith quietly, being greatly influenced by a radio program called Back to the Bible.
She was predeceased by: her parents Gerhard and Maria Falk, her husband John S. Dueck, daughter Maria Doerksen, granddaughter-in-law Donna Pearce Dueck and great-granddaughter Riley Dueck, great-grandson Tyrrell Dueck; her brothers Gerhard, Peter and David; and sisters Maria Dueck and Helena Wiebe.
Left to cherish her memory are: her sons John and George (Elsie); daughters Helen and Marge (Ben) Unrau; 17 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express appreciation and gratitude to the staff at St. Adolphe Nursing Home and Grunthal Menno Home, where she spent that last few years of her life.
A celebration of her life will take place on Friday, November 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 162 Hwy 52 W, Steinbach, MB. Burial will follow at Heritage Cemetery in Niverville, Manitoba.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s memory may be made to Back to the Bible-Radio Program.
