Fred was born March 18, 1965 in Sommerfeld Paraguay to Martin and Mary Penner. He was the fourth of seven children. The family moved to Canada in March 1973 where they lived, first in Niverville MB and later, on a farm near Blumenort.
At age 16 he began working at Granny’s Poultry where he worked for a number of years. He then took on the challenge of professional truck driving, which he did for various companies until about a year ago.
Fred moved to Surrey BC in 2001. This is where he met Alice Naverette whom he married in Steinbach in 2009.
Fred was pre-deceased by his father 1979 and recently in 2013, his mother and his brother Martin.
Fred’s life ended far too soon on Oct 31, 2014 leaving behind his beautiful wife Alice, and her children, as well as five brothers, their wives and numerous nieces and nephews.
A small funeral was held in Surrey BC on November 6. A memorial service will be held in Steinbach in the Pat Porter Center Fireside room, Sunday Nov 23 at 2pm.
