ROCKIE WAYNE CHESTER
After spending 40 plus years as a graphic designer he retired in 2014 from Kromar Printing. He enjoyed many activities but fishing with his friends was a favourite. Even though Rockies' illness made him frail, he possessed strength and perseverance with the ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges for us, his family. With his courage, he led us to believe that each day was a bonus and an opportunity to create memories which, in time, will put the smiles back on our faces when we again recall and relive some special events without our hearts breaking and tears flowing. We are so proud of his valiant efforts to stay with us.
Rockie will be forever missed by his wife Alison; his sons, Jason and Sean, as well as his grandsons, Cody and Brennan. Rockie is survived by three brothers, Lorry, Carl and Richard and their wives, as well as two sisters, Cheryl and Janet and their husbands, as well as many nieces and nephews. He will sadly be missed by his friends and family who stood beside him. Thank you for your help and support during this challenging time.
Rockie and I have travelled many miles on our last journey together - miles of emotions, spirits, courage and strength. I thanked God for granting me the courage and strength to walk beside him to his life's end. Always and forever in our hearts.
Rockie's family would like to thank Palliative Care, CancerCare Manitoba and MAID for assisting him in making it possible for him to pass with dignity.
Flowers are gratefully declined.
According to Rockies' wishes there will be no service.
Always and Forever Loved.

I first met Rockie at Saults and Pollard in the seventies I believe. He was a happy man and shared his happiness with one and all. I’m sorry for your loss Alison. - Posted by: Marcel (Friend ) on: Mar 24, 2023

Rockie and I were pals in our younger days. We made lots of noise, skirted much trouble and laughed a lot. I moved to BC in 1970 and we saw each other only rarely after that. He was a great guy; always fun and upbeat, generous of spirit and always there for you if and when you needed him. Many of my fondest memories of my time in Winnipeg include Rockie. Alison: please accept my condolences; I never did get to know your family. Please tell your children I have great respect and affection for their father. May you find peace in knowing you got to spend quality time with one of the good guys of this world. Sincerely - Posted by: Peter Mutrie (Friend) on: Jul 10, 2021

Rockie was the Institution of kindness at Kromar. I knew him for umpteen years and grew to reliy on his abilities in the innovation of a variety of new projects. Kromar put into practice many of his ideas which were fruiful and well received by our clients. Gentle and kind, ONE OF A KIND. We are terribly sorry to hear of his departure from this world. May the Almighty have compassion and console his wife and families.
