McNUTT: Laura Evelyn McNutt (nee Giles), formerly of Brandon, passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Douglas Campbell Lodge, Portage la Prairie, MB on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the age of 91 years. Laura was predeceased by her husband, Anthony; parents, Stanley and Eva; siblings, Harvey, Clarence "Bud", James, Murray, Bessie, Alice and Jack; as well lifelong friends, Cec and Marion Greig. Laura will be lovingly remembered by daughter, Margaret (Raymond) Reichelt and their children, Luke, Amy, Samuel; son, Douglas (Evelyn) McNutt and his children, Erin (Shaun), Catherine, Nicholas (Jenn); son, Paul (Christine) and their daughter, Payton; son, Glenn (Sherry); son, Kevin (Shauna) and their children, Morgan and Shamus; son, Earl (Donna) and their children, Christopher, Sarah and Laura; sisters, Margaret Longstaff and Marjorie McPhail. Laura was born on April 29, 1929 in MacGregor, MB. Laura went to school in MacGregor before attending Normal School in Winnipeg. After, completing Normal School Laura began her teaching years at Emmeline School. After teaching at Emmeline, she moved on to teach at Rapid City and then Melita where she met her husband, Anthony. Laura and Anthony moved to Brandon where she was a substitute teacher until they started their family, raising six kids along with the kids in the neighbourhood. Laura had a love for her friends and family and took great joy in doing jigsaw puzzles. A Graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Laura may be made to a charity of choice.
