GREENSHIELDS: Doris Irene Greenshields, born November 22, 1925, passed away peacefully in St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon on October 30, 2019 at the age of 93 years. Originally from Estevan, SK, Doris went on to be a lifelong educator and spent many years teaching in Crystal City and Brandon. Doris was predeceased by her loving husband, Walter Harold Greenshields on November 20, 1996 and is now resting peacefully with him. Doris spent her life helping others and was an active member of the Rebekah Lodge in Brandon for many years. Her sense of community was an example to others and she cherished all of her relationships through the years. In her later years, Doris moved to Saskatoon where she made new friends and remained active up until her death. Although Doris and Harold had no children, she was like a mother to many of her students and formed a forever lasting bond to Wendy and Barry Mayba of Winnipeg. Doris was a special aunt to her nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Doris to a charity of their choice.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)
A very kind and caring teacher. - Posted by: David S. (Former Student) on: Nov 20, 2020
I had the honour of working with Doris at ACC and also we belonged to the same political organization. Doris was always open to sharing her ideas, and providing help when requested. As a young teacher she provided me with much needed advice that I certainly appreciated. Doris was a tireless worker and quick to share a laugh. I have many fond memories of the time I spent with her. My deepest sympathy to the family. - Posted by: Liz roberts (Friend and colleague) on: Nov 20, 2020
