CURLE: Vernie Clarence Curle (Jiggs) was born on October 12, 1929 into a family of 15 children. His parents were Robert and Jenny Curle. He attended school at Moore Park, Glenburney, Brookdale and North Oberon schools. Jiggs worked on farms in the area before beginning a 33 year career with CP Rail. On November 12, 1975 Jiggs married Marion Campbell in Winnipeg. They lived there for a few years before moving to 3002 McDonald Avenue in Brandon. Jiggs loved gardening, playing cards, going to dances, going for drives, family reunions, woodworking, meeting friends for coffee and teasing his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews whom he adored. Jiggs passed away at Fairview Personal Care Home on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 with his loving wife Marion at his side. Jiggs is survived by his wife, Marion; sister, Marjorie Thompson of Winnipeg and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces whom he dearly loved and was loved back in return. The family would like to thank the staff of Fairview Personal Care Home, the Brandon Regional Health Centre staff, Brockie Donovan Funeral Home staff, Reverend Barb Jardine, Dr. Large and Dr. Davis for their care. A funeral service was held at Brockie Donovan Chapel on December 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Barb Jardine officiating. Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery in Neepawa. Donations in memory of Jiggs may be made to a charity of choice.
