NORMA BORTOLUZZI
Norma was predeceased by her loving husband Edward (Chico). She will forever be remembered by her adoring family: sons, Lawrence (Debbie), Brian, Gordon (Janice), and William (Judy) and daughter Kathy (John); her beloved grandchildren, Dawn (Payton), Mark (Julie), Amy, Jeff, Charlee; and her great-grandchildren, Spencer and Harper.
Born Norma Leila Lamb, she was a teacher, bank teller and instructor/lifeguard and a longtime volunteer at the North Winnipeg YMCA.
She will be remembered as an outspoken woman with a remarkable list of achievements such as being awarded a lifetime membership to any YMCA in the world for her volunteer services to the Aquatics Program. Norma was well-travelled and loved her visits with her children and grandchildren. She loved nature and being in the outdoors whether it was bird watching, camping, golfing, cross-country skiing or jogging. She completed the Manitoba Tin Man marathon at age 60 after completing her first marathon at age 51. A feisty advocate for healthy living, anti-smoking and great cooking, well before it was in vogue.
A celebration of her life will take place via a live broadcast on Wednesday, December 16 at 3:00 p.m. CST. Additional information can be found at www.cropo.com
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in mom's honour to the Manitoba Marathon, 1479 Dublin Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 3G8, or a charity of your choice.

Norma was my next door neighbour on Cathedral for 7 years. Chico passed away while I lived next door and after he was gone I was able to get to know Norma a bit better. She loved her family and was so proud of every single one of them. She told me all about her swimming and marathons. When my kids were born she was so helpful and had lots of treats. I think of her often with fondness. :) - Posted by: Liza (Neighbour on Cathedral) on: Feb 06, 2023

When in late teens, I would stay with Norma and Chico when I went to Winnipeg. They usually would find room for me or ship me off to auntie Gwen and Joe. Always had a very good time with them. I really loved them, even though I never saw them much after I moved to British Columbia. The last time I saw them was in early 70s but have never forgotten their love and hospitality. All my love to the rest of the family. - Posted by: Douglas Lamb (Nephew ) on: Jan 04, 2021

We have very fond memories of Norma and Chico. I was fortunate to work with Norma at the North YMCA and remained friends after working together. Nelson spent time picking strawberries with Norma and later always picked strawberries when she was unable to go. She was a remarkable and a very loving individual. Our condolences to the family. May she Rest In Peace. She will be missed. - Posted by: Lesia and Nelson Szwaluk (Friends ) on: Dec 15, 2020

We were all saddened to learn of Norma's passing. She was an interesting lady. When she would come to Victoria to visit Lawrence and Debbie, she would always invite me to join her and Debbie for lunch. She made a good impression on our Daughter back in the 80's when she taught her how to cross country ski. We all have many fond memories of Norma. She will be missed. It is comforting to know that she is at peace, and is back together with Chico. Sending love and our sincere condolences to the family.
