VINT: Thomas (Tom) Glen Vint of Minnedosa passed away December 8, 2020 at the Minnedosa Personal Care Home at the age of 75 years He had fought (with stoicism, courage and humor) a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Tom was born April 16, 1945 at the Portage La Prairie General Hospital to Bud and Mildred Vint. His first two years were spent in Oakville, MB, when the family moved to Minnedosa where he spent the remainder of his life. Following high school, what started out as a summer job led to a career that spanned 37 years with the MB Gov't (Hwys Dep't). In 1974, in a leap of faith and following his dream to be a farmer Tom purchased a half section of land in the Cadurcis District (west of Minnedosa). Together with his wife and their two children Sean and Leah they took up residence in the century old farm home on the property where they resided for 43 years. A second half was added and the dream became a reality. Maintaining two full time jobs was killer work but Tom saw no value and wasted no time in regrets. His credo was "play with the hand you are dealt." Tom worked hard but always found time for play, a little service to the community, and a helping hand to friends and neighbors. He golfed, curled, fished, hunted, camped and played many many hand of cards. He tried to do his bit for his community in his role as Fun Fest Chairman, curling club president, junior rifle club instructor and many work parities for the organizations he supported. Tom's pride in his children, their partners, and his grandchildren was endless. He reveled in their triumphs and successes, and all were a source of joy. Life's joys are balanced with its sorrows. Tom lost his father Bud at a young age (mid teens.), as well he was pre-deceased by his sister Tanny, her husband Kip, his mother Mildred, brother Terry and his father, mother and brother-in-law, Ray, Shirley and Doug Delmage. Surviving on treasured memories are Tom's wife Linda son Sean (wife Jeri-Lynn Pippus), son Tommy, daughter Leah Harland (husband Paul), son Tyler, daughter Callan Breciani, (Channing.) Also remembering Tom (along with their familes) are Verla Brykaliuk (Dennis), Carol Vint, Sharon Delmage, Ian Delmage (Colleen) and Colin Delmage (Debby Brown). Due to the restrictions imposed in the battle against Covid 19 there will be no service at this time. A gathering to remember Tom will be planned for 2021. If friends or family wish donations in Tom's memory may be made to the Minnedosa Community Foundation, box 1980, Minnedosa, MB, R0J 1E0.

Dear Linda, It has been many years but I was saddened to learn that Tom passed. I know how hard it is to be alone. Sending love. - Posted by: Linda Vanderburgh (High school friend) on: Apr 30, 2021
Linda and Family: Sincere condolences extended in the passing of Tom. I will always be grateful to you and Tom for venturing the arduous task of subdividing thus allowing me to be part of the wonderful Cadurcis community. In spite of humble beginnings true growth grew here... once again growth flourished by you and Tom among others. May all your memories bring you comfort. - Posted by: Holly and Don Morrison (Friends ) on: Dec 22, 2020
Linda, & family, It is with sadness that we have read about Tom's passing in the Brandon Sun. Although we have not seen Tom for many years, we still remember all the good times we spent with him and the rest of the Vint family over many many years. The annual government bonspiel was always a great time. Those times are great memories for both Bill & myself. Please accept our deepest and most sincere condolences to you, Sean & Leah and the rest of your family. Bill & Lois - Posted by: Bill & Lois Bryant (Friends) on: Dec 19, 2020
