RONALD JAMES CORBETT
Ronald was born in Bible Hill, Nova Scotia on May 25, 1927. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Frances Corbett; son Stephen Corbett (Paul); daughter Susan Cassidy (Dave); granddaughter Keira Cassidy (Matt); and Keira's father Mark Cassidy. He is predeceased by his mother Helene Corbett Mingo; sisters Lorraine and Florence; and brother Phillip.
Ronald, aka Jake, lived in Nova Scotia until 1963 when the family moved to Vancouver and settled in Winnipeg in 1964. Ronald retired from Otto Bock Orthopedics in 1993 and retired to Spruce Sands until 2008 when they returned to the city. Many happy memories, and friendships were made at Spruce Sands. Ronald always was a "down homer" and enjoyed many visits back to Nova Scotia, PEI, and Newfoundland.
The family would like to thank the healthcare providers at homecare, the Grace and Concordia who took care of Ronald over the last year.
As per Ronald's wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army in Ronald's name.
Condolences for the family may be left at www.alternacremation.ca.
