LISA MARIE ZARETSKI
(nee BECK)

It is with a grief filled heart, I am saddened to announce the passing of my beloved wife. Lisa passed peacefully on December 14, 2020 at Kin Place, Oakbank at the age of 47. After fighting over a courageous 20 year battle with MS and then COVID 19. She is now re-united with her father Ervin and brother David in heaven.
Lisa is survived by her loving husband James, mother Linda Beck, extended family, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lisa was born on May 13, 1973. She was raised on the family farm in East Selkirk. She loved the country, reminiscing about her life with her mom, dad and brother, plus all the great visits from family, cousins and friends.
In 1997, Lisa and I started dating and on September 12, 1998, I married the love of my life. We built a home only couple miles from her homestead and had 22 wonderful years together.
Lisa started her career as a hairdresser, but her love was cooking and helping others in the community working at the Selkirk Curling Club and the Lions Manor, giving her great pleasure.
Lisa enjoyed the outdoors camping, fishing and going to the beach. Planting flowers and helping in the yard, always with her fur babies, Chaos, Simba, Dutches, Kiwi, Bear, Zola and Sammy by her side.
Lisa's other passion was reading. She was excellent in English, she could spell any word and proof read a letter and correct you on it.
Having MS all those years it never stopped her from giving 100 percent in everything she encountered, which made her stronger in every way. Facebook helped her to stay connected with family and friends and also her new friends from MS Society.
Lisa will always be fondly remembered for her positive attitude and quick smile.

A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says,
"Grieve not for me".
Remember the best times, the laughter,
the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will
shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.
Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small.
Go on with your life, don't worry
about falls.
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.
Until the day comes we're together again.

I would like to thank the staff at Selkirk Regional Health Centre who looked after Lisa over several years, especially Dr. Speer for going above and beyond taking care of her needs anytime day or night. Also to Kin Place for making her last days comfortable.
Cremation has taken place, but due to restrictions, memorial service will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please give generously to the MS Society of MB.

  • Sorry to hear Lisa has passed. She worked for me as a cook at Lions Manor. She was a very caring and kind young lady. My prayers are with James and her mom Linda. - Posted by: Les scramstad (Friend) on: Dec 23, 2020
