JUSTINA SIEMENS

Justina (Voth) Siemens was born on September 12,1923 in Silberfeld Village (Gretna, Manitoba P.O.). She was the second oldest of nine children born to Cornelius C. and Susan Voth.
On June 27, 1946, she married Ed Siemens. They settled in their own home on Mom and Dad Siemens' farm in the Kronstal School District. In 1954, Ed and Justina, along with their two young sons, moved to Altona. Ed was employed at the Rhineland Consumers Co-operative; Justina was a homemaker. From 1968 to 1984, Justina worked as a Vocational Aid in the Food Services program at W. C. Miller Collegiate in Altona.
Justina served her Church through the choir. In the summertime, the family vacation was spent at the Springstein Summer Bible Camp where Justina "did the cooking" (and Ed served as "handyman").
Justina enjoyed travelling. Enjoyable trips were made to the West coast, the East coast, Northern Manitoba, Churchill, Arizona, Alaska and Mexico. Many trips were made to Calgary, Kindersley, Grande Prairie, Inuvik and Barrhead to visit her children and grandchildren. After Ed passed, Justina spent the winter months visiting friends in Yuma, Arizona for a number of years.
In June 2018, Justina took up residence at Eastview Place in Altona, where she lived with her two sisters (Mary and Sarah).
Justina Siemens passed away peacefully at the age of 97 years in the early hours of December 14, 2020. She is survived by her two sons: Dennis (Eleanor) and Larry (Elizabeth) and their families, two sisters and two brothers. She was predeceased by her husband Ed Siemens in 1990.
A private graveside service was held at the Altona Cemetery.
