LISA ANNE HOLDER
(nee TITTLEMIER)
January 8, 1974 - January 1, 2021

While her brother sang and played one of her favourite tunes, our beloved Lisa passed away peacefully. Lisa's three-year battle with metastatic breast cancer came to an end, January 1, 2021, at the St. Boniface Hospital.
She is survived by her loving husband Darren; daughters, Emma and Jorja; parents, Britta and James Tittlemier; in-laws, Bill and Gail Holder; brother-in-law Curtis Holder with wife Deneen and their children, Sharaya, Ashton, Caiden and Brennan; and Lisa's brother Kurt Tittlemier with wife Victoria and their children, Oliver, Selah and Theodore. Lisa cherished her aunty and uncle Ingrid and Jerry Zechel and Silva Carswell. She is also survived by the Tittlemier aunts and uncles and her loving cousins. Lisa's warm and generous personality created a large community of friends and colleagues, too many to mention here. Lisa's memory will always live on with her dear friends, Chelsea Ruth, Anneke Gillis and John Graham.
Lisa was born on January 8, 1974. She was a sweet child with a very curious nature which led to some very interesting adventures. Lisa attended Royal School, Charleswood Junior High, and graduated from Shaftesbury High School in 1992. She went on to the University of Manitoba and graduated with a degree in textile design from the faculty of Human Ecology. She won the best design award in her graduating year (1996).
Lisa started her employment at Ricki's Fashion as a buyer and ended her time there in the design department. After the birth of her two children, she took on a part-time career managing Winnipeg's renowned Deseo Bistro. After six years her daughters firmly entrenched in school, Lisa decided to go back to the Design Industry. She was hired by Mondetta Fashion as Design Technician and worked in design until her cancer diagnosis.
Lisa was very much a fun-loving person! She loved life and all it had to offer. No task was too big or small for our Lisa. She loved her girls with all her heart, supporting them in their studies and all of their extracurricular activities. Lisa, husband Darren and their children spent many days camping in their trailer. They also loved to spend time at their friends' cottages in Lake of the Woods.
We would like to thank Dr. Pat Harris and all the staff at CancerCare at the Grace Hospital for their very good care of Lisa.
There will be no formal funeral at this time because of Covid-19 restrictions. We are planning a celebration of Lisa's life possibly in June at Lake of the Woods - Everyone is Welcome!

Condolences & Memories (11 entries)

  • Lisa was one of the coolest cousins a girl could ask for. She always made time to play Strawberry Short Cake or Barbie dolls with me. She also made my birthday dress for my tenth birthday. I will always remember her laughter and her ginger bread cookies. Love always Ashley - Posted by: Ashley Kaltenberger (cousins) on: Jan 26, 2021

  • I am shocked and saddened by this news. I worked with Lisa at Ricki's and knew her to be strong, creative and smart. My deepest sympathies to her family at this extremely difficult time. - Posted by: Maire McDermott (Friend) on: Jan 14, 2021

  • We have only recently learned of Lisa’s passing and our heart is heavy for her family. I got to know Lisa and her lovely family through our kids school at Riverwest Park. I remember clearly that Lisa was one of the first parents to give us warm welcome to the school community. Lisa prioritized volunteering at the school to support her girls as it was clear she adored them! I looked forward to running into Lisa at the school functions and catching up as she was always a bright light in any room! There are no words that suitably cover the tragedy of the loss of Lisa for her girls, Darren and everyone who loved her. You are all being held close in thought and we send our deepest condolences. Christina, Jeff, Kieran and Declan Redmond. - Posted by: Christina Redmond (Friend ) on: Jan 14, 2021

  • Devastating. Our beautiful Lisa, how we admired your strong will. Our deep compassion to Darren, Britta, James and cousin Kurt & Victoria. Lots of hugs for Emma and Jorga. Favourite memory...Lisa sewing and designing our living-room curtains and Britta and Gramma Buhr ironing and helping her hang them up. Brian put on Nate King Cole on the gramophone to tease their Gramma and instead Gramma loved it and started singing and dancing around the living-room. Not sure who had the last laugh but we all were wiping the laugher tears away. Brian's favourite memory is Lisa bundled up in winter clothes smiling and laughing by our campfire enjoying watching her kids being pulled in the sleigh with the ski-doo. Can still see her laughing and having fun. You will always be in our hearts cousin. Love you. - Posted by: Sheila and Brian Kaltenberger (cousins) on: Jan 10, 2021

  • Lisa was a warm and bright spirit, with an infectious laugh and a wonderful sense of humour. She was an astute observer with keen insight and brought so much to every conversation -- in her abilities to listen and empathise, as well as to share. Sending love and my sincere condolences to friends and family. - Posted by: Allan Tyler (Friend (university)) on: Jan 10, 2021

  • I am the older sister to Lisa's mom Britta. I have a lot of memories about my niece. It starts when she was born. My sister and her husband (James) had a beautiful little red headed baby girl. She was a happy child. I still remember her running through the hose on the hot summer days in the country when visiting her family on weekends. Lisa grew up to be a very talented girl in the fashion industry and also very knowledgeable in home design. She had the flare for it all. If we needed help in design she was always there. She was also very good in putting receptions together for her brother when he had concerts in his music career. She was a beautiful person and always eager to please. I could go on and on in her memory as there is much more to say. I will miss her with all my heart. She will always be remembered. Love Aunty Silva. - Posted by: Silva Carswell (Aunty ) on: Jan 09, 2021

  • Although I have not met Lisa I have seen the strength and character she has cultivated in her daughter Emma. Through this entire semester of school, in the midst of her mother’s valiant fight and COVID she has remained positive and dedicated to her studies. During this past week of yet another change to her schooling she has shown the resilience and strength that was shared about her mother in the beautiful obituary. My deepest sympathies go out to Emma and all of her family and friends. - Posted by: Andrea Wicha (Emma’s teacher) on: Jan 09, 2021
