JACQUELINE MECKLING
A lifelong resident of Manitoba, she experienced many set-backs throughout her life but was still to able raise an amazing family! She was always a loving and devoted mother to Jason (Eliisa) and Chris (Val); Mom was extra proud of her grandchildren, Kalem, Ryland, Aden, Marissa and Ella, they were the light of her life; as well as many fur babies through the years.
Successful businesswoman, passionate volunteer, loyal friend and an amazing mother! She was fortunate enough to travel the world and experience so much. Mom was especially fond of her many adventures to the Netherlands through the years to visit her beloved family.
All that knew her loved her larger than life personality, sense of humour and infectious laugh. Always fighting for the little guy, she was quick to help anyone who needed it and always put everyone else's needs before her own. We are grateful for the love and care she received from Justin and the staff at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg in the past four years as she became the care home's unofficial Laundry Manager. She worked for hours daily folding towels for the residents because she felt it was her duty. Now it is time for you to rest Mom and let someone else do the folding!
Special thank you to the staff at the Grace Hospital - as Mom transitioned out of the ICU into a ward, the care shown by the nurses, doctors and staff in a very difficult time were beyond helpful.
Mom has now joined her siblings, Kenny and Cathy up in Heaven and the three of them are definitely now getting caught up and visiting over a cup of coffee after being apart for so many years.
Due to current pandemic restrictions, no funeral service will take place.
In lieu of flowers, Mom would ask that you do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for someone in her name.

I was one of the nurses at the Convalescent Home. I will always remember her infectious and hearty laugh. We shared a common bond in Churchill and animals. - Posted by: Bree (Nurse) on: Jan 18, 2021

I am so sorry to hear of Jacqui's passing. She was such a kind loving woman who always made my visits to my mother so enjoyable. She also formed a bond with my grandson who always wanted to stop in and say hello. RIP Jacqui - Posted by: cheryl barr (Visitor at the nursing home) on: Jan 09, 2021
