SHAW: Yvonne Emily Shaw passed away on January 11, 2021 peacefully at Evergreen Place, Boissevain, with her kids by her side; at the age of 84. Yvonne is survived by her three children Bradley Shaw, Janice (Tom) Sprott and Richard (Brenda) Shaw. As well as grandchildren Ladene Shaw, Mandi (Eric) Percival, Lee Sprott, Sean (Deanne) Sprott, Ian (Cassandra) Sprott, Kerri (Brodie) Davis , Dale Shaw and 11 great grandchildren. Yvonne was predeceased by her parents Margaretha and Cyriel DeDobbleare, and her sister Hazel Cuvelier. Yvonne was born on July 4, 1936 on the family farm just east of Boissevain. In 1938, the family moved to Minto, where Yvonne received her education. After high school, Yvonne worked as a telephone operator until the office closed. In 1957, she married Donald Campbell Shaw. Yvonne and Donald farmed in the Minto area for many years, where she was actively involved in the family farming operation. Yvonne moved to Boissevain in 1978, where she worked for many years in the local grocery store, and various other jobs. Yvonne belonged to Court Lady June L1912, Minto Recreation Committee and taught 4-H sewing. Yvonne liked to curl as well as watch curling, play bingo, sew, knit, crochet and ceramics. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren play their various sports. Yvonne enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow into adults and start their own families. Due to declining health, Yvonne moved to Westview Lodge in April 2019 – then in August 2020 she got pneumonia and was required to move to Evergreen Place, until she passed away. The family would like to send their sincerest thank you to Dr. Nell, and the staff at Westview Lodge and Evergreen Place for their wonderful, ongoing care of Mom, Grandma and Gogo. SHAW: Yvonne Emily Shaw (nee DeDobbelaere), died January 11, 2021 at Evergreen Place Personal Care Home in Boissevain, Manitoba at the age of 84. She is lovingly remembered by her children Brad, Janice (Tom), and Richard (Brenda) as well as their families. A private family graveside service will take place at Boissevain Cemetery at a later date.
