WILSON: Gerald Ross Wilson, 76, husband of Shirley, passed away peacefully January 15, 2021 in Grandview. He was born March 21, 1944 in Cuckfield, Sussex, England. He came to Canada March 1946 with his mother to join his dad who had served overseas during WWII. He was the eldest son of Joe and Bettie (Hammond) Wilson of Whitewater, MB. He grew up on the family farm in the Whitewater area. After school he worked at road construction before starting a 35 year career in 1966 with Manitoba Pool Elevators. After retirement he worked as a seasonal laborer in the agriculture business. He enjoyed curling and spent hours at rinks and ball diamonds watching his son and grandchildren play hockey and ball. Over the years Gerald and Shirley had some special trips and camped every summer, most recently at a seasonal lot at Sportsman Park. He married Shirley Langman in Brandon on March 5, 1966. They moved to various small communities in Western Manitoba, as he transferred for his job. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Dallas Ryan and two very special grandchildren, Cameron and Payton Wilson, all of Grandview. Surviving also his sister, Madalyn Price of Boissevain; brother, Colin (Joyce) Wilson of Winkler; brother-in-law, Pete Kozak of Carman; sister-in-law, Linda Bray of Brandon and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Joe and Bettie; brother, James Robert; parents-in-law, William and Bernice Langman; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Lorraine Kempthorne, sister-in-law, Mae Kozak and brother-in-law, Lawrence Sicinski. Due to Covid 19 a small family interment will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
