CHARLES EDWARD (TED) MCKANE

Charles Edward (Ted) McKane passed away peacefully on January 22, 2021. He was born in Morley, Ontario in 1934.
Ted is survived by his three daughters, Connie Hawkins, Lucy (Peter) Vagasi and Michelle (Gabe) Toth, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also survived by his three brothers, Jack, Les and Edward.
Ted worked most of his life in the long haul trucking industry. As a young man he was an avid, middle weight boxer. He was a man's man with a good sense of humour who enjoyed socializing with his friends. He enjoyed his fishing trips with his son-in-law Gabe and watching old westerns. He had a strong Christian faith and attended Calvary Temple.
He was a caring and generous grandpa who was loved by all his grandchildren.

RIP Dad. We love you.
You fought the good fight and
your struggles are over.

"Amazing grace, how sweet the sound..."

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I will remember you Ted and think of you often with love and kindness. And I often think about your wonderful family also. You liked to box as a middleweight and would often talk about your friend Floyd Patterson (heavyweight champion) and your friend Ron Mikaluk who would take you flying. I remember your love for God and Jesus and how you would display a picture of Jesus on your bedside table where-ever your travels took you. God loves people like you, who have an unwavering belief in him and what he is doing and I believe that we will meet again dear brother. Love Dunk. - Posted by: Ed McKane (Brother) on: Feb 03, 2021

  • I am very sad to hear about uncle Ted. He was always a legend as my dad (Les) had a lot of great stories he used to tell us about his brother my whole life. I was lucky enough to see him in Vancouver quite a number of years ago now. He came for lunch with my mom and I and he got to meet my daughter. Rest in peace now uncle Ted. - Posted by: Susan McKane (Niece) on: Feb 01, 2021

  • So sad to hear about Ted. I met Teddy as a youth at the Madison Boxing Club. He was already a legend, taking on all-comers and mentoring. His example of faith in the LORD helped many. His memory lives on in the Rankings of his gym buddies. - Posted by: wayne caplette (friend) on: Jan 30, 2021
