MARGERY ANETTA SCHMALL
(née MALMQUIST)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margery Anetta Schmall, age 91, early January 31, 2021, at the Niverville Personal Care Home in Niverville, MB.
She is survived by her son Jim (Jo-Anne); grandchildren, Brett (Simmy), Chad, Katrina, Jarett, and Konrad; great-grandchildren, Lance and Aasha; her sisters, Gwen (Al) and Bonnie, along with many nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was predeceased by her husband William Edward Sr., son Gerald and daughter-in-law Cora, son William Edward Jr., mother Anna, father Lennart Wilfred, her sister Irene, and brothers, Teddy, Fred and Gerald.
Mom was born on July 9, 1929, in Brunkild, MB. She grew up there, and met Dad while she worked as a telephone operator. They were married November 28, 1953, and raised their family while moving to various places: Douglas, Kenora, Selkirk, Winnipeg, and then Calgary, before ending up back in Winnipeg once more. Ever patient and a woman of faith, she had a deep seated love for her Saviour Jesus. Mom was loved by everyone who met her. She in turn had an incredible love and admiration for her family, especially the kids. She was hands-down her grandchildren's biggest supporter at the hockey rink, on the baseball diamond, and in the pool. She loved to play bingo (and did so up until the age of 91), and would never say no to a game of cards.
Interment will take place at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff and general community at the Niverville Personal Care Home.
For those interested, a donation can be made to an organization of your choice in Mom's name.

  • To Marge's family, I would like to say that I am very sorry for your loss. My husband Murray and I have visited Marge in Niverville our past few visits to Manitoba. I have always admired her strength and resilience. I understand from speaking with Bonnie that Marge was ready to leave this earth. I know that her family will surely miss her. I was seventeen years her junior, but still remember her as a beautiful bride. - Posted by: Gloria May (nee Malmquist) (First cousin) on: Feb 06, 2021

  • Sincere Condolences to Jim & Jo-Anne and the entire Schmall Family Auntie Marg will be sadly missed by us. She was such a warm gentle and beautiful person to be around. My favorite times with her was when I visited with her in her suite, having coffee and laughing and just talking about life. We also enjoyed time together in Niverville over the past few years. May she be at Peace and enjoying walking in Heavens gardens with all those she loved. - Posted by: Lorraine Lorelei & Sharon (Sister-In Law & Nieces ) on: Feb 06, 2021
