ADAMS: Don Adams. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Don Adams, husband, father, brother, son, uncle, nephew and friend on February 13, 2021 in Saskatoon, SK. A first baby born to Norman and Norah on June 7, 1933 in Oakshela, SK and ultimately a big brother to Ken, Lloyd, Norma and Dorothy (Dodi). Don married Helen in 1973 in Brandon, MB combining the Adams and Garvie families. They moved to Saskatoon in 1982 where they enjoyed the many things the city, the neighboring small towns and Prairies have to offer. Throughout his life, Don enjoyed family travels in Canada, Britain, Europe and the USA, and various travel adventures with his children. During his life, he actively participated in local politics, community organizations and his church communities. He was guided by the verse: "Here am I; send me." (Isaiah 6:8). Being useful and making things better for people in the communities where he lived was paramount to Don. After high school graduation in Rapid City, MB, Don pursued a degree in Chemistry from Brandon College (class of '54). His career started as a chemist for CIL (Toronto) and MacBlo (Nanaimo) and then as an instructor in the Chemistry Department at his Alma Mater. Don then made a career change to managing affordable housing for seniors and families and ultimately worked helping the unemployed regain independence. He had a gentle spirit and one of his many talents was seeing the potential in every person he encountered. Don had three children with his former wife Marjorie Joy, Felicity and Wade. Dad/Pater was always a part of their lives and he loved his children dearly each for their unique selves. The children are thankful for the constant and loving care Helen so unstintingly gave Dad which enabled him to remain at home despite his declining health in recent years. Don will be missed by us all - his loving wife Helen, children Joy (Chester), Felicity (Carol) and Wade, siblings Ken (Janet), Norma (Bob) and Dodi (Ian), sister-in-law Irene, brother-in-law Keith, former wife and dear friend Marjorie and many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by brother Lloyd and sister-in-law Laurel. A celebration of life will take place at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dying With Dignity Canada or a charity of your choice.

Don was my lab instructor in chemistry at Brandon College (now Brandon University) about 1963. I respected his encouragement and kind manner. I was interested to read this obituary and learn more details of his life. A very full life.. - Posted by: Bruce Fraser (former student) on: Mar 15, 2021
