LOWDON: With sadness, the family wishes to announce the passing of Georgina Lowdon née Tourond on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Assiniboine Centre, Brandon, MB. Georgie was born on December 31, 1934 to George and Mary Jeanne Tourond and grew up in St. Marthe, MB. Following a short time living and working in Lebret, SK and Vancouver, BC, Georgie decided to return to Manitoba. She married Glen Lowdon on May 8, 1965 and together raised two girls on their farm in the Virden area. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting and gardening. Many an hour was spent playing cards or board games with family and friends, or reading when a moment became available. Georgie was a member of the Virden Sacred Heart Church and enjoyed assisting with church activities. She is predeceased by her husband, Glen; parents, George and Mary Jeanne; sisters, Marie, Elizabeth and Rose; brothers, Vince, Fred, Gerard, John, Paul and Chico. She is survived by her daughters, Marcella (John) and Tara (Allan); grandchildren, David (Teniel), Kevin (Jade) and Amy (Jyles) as well as 4 great grandchildren, Fallon, Lennix, Theo and Grayson. Mom will be forever remembered for her big smile, loving ways and steadfast determination especially in difficult times. The family wishes to thank all of the doctors and nursing staff for all of her care. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place with a graveside service at a later date to cherish her memory.
