It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our mother, Sandra Ione Ford (nee Misener) who died peacefully on Saturday, January 2nd, 2021 at the age of 74, at Deer Lodge Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Sandra was born in Pipestone, Manitoba on November 1st, 1946 to Ross and Mildred Misener. Sandra grew up in Roblin, Manitoba where she attended school and met and married her husband, William Ian Ford on May 8th, 1965 and through their marriage they lived in Roblin, Dauphin, Minto, and Brandon. Over the years were also blessed with four children; Cheryl, Racquel, Scott and Ashley. Then Sandra took on the important role of Gigi to first Courtney, and then to Poppy and Daisy. Sandra worked as a nurse's aide at Roblin Hospital, which she remembered fondly. Upon moving to Brandon she also worked at Trails Meats, East 40 Packers Ltd. However for much of her life Sandra was a loving mother and homemaker, Sandra enjoyed preparing meals and baking for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays. Once her children were in school she also opened her heart and home to neighbourhood children by providing daycare. Sandra loved keeping busy. She especially enjoyed ceramics, crafts, gardening, doing puzzles, and watching curling. She also could often be found sitting on her bench enjoying her coffee while reading the paper. In 2015 Sandra suffered a stroke that took many things from her, however she maintained her amazing sense of humour and fierce stubbornness right till the end. She made Deer Lodge her home for the final years of her life, and the family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the amazing care she received by the team of Lodge Six. Sandra was predeceased by her loving husband, Ian; her infant daughter, Cheryl; parents, Ross and Mildred; her brother, Glen and many loved extended family members and friends.
