CLARK: Our mom, Marie Eva Lucille Clark, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021 of heart failure. She was 98. She was born on October 14, 1922, in Somerset, Manitoba, the daughter of Alfred and Felixine Cadorath, she was also big sister to Ronald, who passed away over a decade ago. Family was the bedrock of mom's life. The love of family and the joy she found within it were immeasurable. Her most contented and enjoyable times were when she was with family - whether an organized get-together or a simple visit. She raised five kids and lives on through them, her eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Faith held a special place with mom throughout her life. There were numerous times, when faced with trouble or crisis, she'd say, "I'll say a prayer". And while many say that, Mom really did pray; not only when troubled, but every day. She attended Sunday mass at St. Augustine's until her health worsened. She would say a rosary every night before going to sleep. Prayer brought mom comfort. A comfort she needed and hoped would also come to those she loved. Beyond these outward displays, mom's faith could be found in how she lived; in her character. She was forgiving and accepting. She was able to look past a person's shortfalls and flaws. And while she didn't always agree or understand, she never failed to look for the good in someone or something. Mom's faith and love of family gave her strength and let her live her life without bitterness or envy. Our mom was an avid sports fan (always ready with suggestions on how to fix the Blue Jays pitching problems or the Canadiens goal tending woes). She loved to embroider (we have a bag full of pillow cases). She loved watching game shows and Father Brown. In her earlier years, late night/early morning shuffleboard games (with refreshments) were always welcome. As were card games any time, any place. In her nineties she picked up a Play Station 4 controller and quickly became the family driving leader in golf. As one of her grandsons-in-law said, "Grandma's got punch." We'll miss mom. But as we grieve we find comfort in these words from Thomas Campbell
"To live in hearts
we leave behind
is not to die."
Love you forever, mama.

To Mona and the entire family!! My deepest condolences to the family in hearing of your dear mom's passing. Although it’s been many years, I think of you all often, my second family for so many years! We had some really great times on Percy St. My home away from home. “mom” was always there, warm, welcoming and giving, and had a wonderful sense of humour I might add, my mind runs through all the antics. My thoughts are with you in your time of sadness, I can hear the reminiscing now. Be well, stay safe. 💕 - Posted by: Kelly (Family friend ) on: Mar 22, 2021
