WALLIS: Lorna Jane Wallis (nee Steele). On Tuesday March 9, 2021, with family by her side, Lorna Jane Wallis (nee Steele) of Glenboro, MB, passed away at the Glenboro Health Centre at the age of 85 years.
Mom was born on September 15, 1935, the youngest of four children born to John and Ellen Steel. She attended Hawkins and Glenboro Schools and lived her entire life in Glenboro. On June 4, 1955 she married Roy Wallis. After raising her family she began working at Wallis Agencies Ltd. Mom and Dad loved to travel. They visited Spain, Jamaica, Barbados, Hawaii, Florida, Scotland, England, Alaska, Australia and various cruises. But the best destination of all was the 19th Hole at Glenboro! Mom enjoyed curling, golf and the bridge club. She also loved her grandchildren and watching their activities. She also enjoyed her "Spirit Sands Housing Family", Coffee breaks in the morning and Happy Hour" on Saturday and was fiercely proud of her Scottish heritage. She leaves to mourn her passing her children Wendy (Corey) Keith of Edmonton, AB, Randy (Shelley) Wallis of Glenboro, MB, Cindy (Brent) Pringle of Glenboro, MB, six grandchildren Michael (Chris) Murray (Natalie), Kirby (Brittany), Drake, Teagan, and Gage, three great grandchildren Noah, Naomi and Abigail; sisters-in-law Eleanor Hamilton of Glenboro, MB, Sheila Sorensen of High River, AB, Alma Wallis of Wawanesa, MB, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Lorna was predeceased by her husband Roy in 2012, parents John and Ellen Steele, brother Don Steele (Marie), sisters Doreen Bjornson (Mundie) and Jean Newton (Mundy Goodmanson and Wayne Newton) and by brothers and sister-in-law Tim (Joyce) Wallis, George Wallis, Jack Hamilton and Gordon Sorensen. Funeral service for will be held on Monday March 15, 2021 in the Willmor Chapel with Sandra Rex officiating. Interment will take place in the Glenboro Cemetery. Friends that so desire, memorial donations can be made in Lorna's memory to the Glenboro & Area Foundation, Box 147, Glenboro, MB, R0K 0X0.
