VERA FORBES
In the early hours of March 14, 2021, she left behind son Dan (Linda); grandchildren, Ryan (Candace) and Jessica; and great-grandsons, James and Sebastian. She was our loving, compassionate and at times stubborn head of the family we all looked up to.
Winnipeg was her home, Transcona her life since 1961. She personified the work ethic and values of the community and was a member of the United Church. Mom worked her magic with knitting needles. She baked our favourites: nanaimo bars, butter tarts, rhubarb cake and her infamous pumpkin pie. She loved to read, do her daily crosswords, watch the Bombers and curling, always having to add her own commentary. Mom adopted "Toast" from the family who became her companion.
