Mrs. Jean Anne Stephens, beloved wife of Mr. Miles Stephens of Lyalta, Alberta, was born on December 13, 1928 in Alexander, Manitoba and passed away at AgeCare Sagewood in Strathmore, Alberta on Friday, March 5, 2021 at the age of 92 years. Besides her beloved husband Miles, Jean will be lovingly remembered by her children Rodney (Carla), Bradley (Laurie), Ann and Darrell; four grandchildren Bailey, Matthew, Travis and Benjamin; her sister Winelda (Wyn) Curtis of Brandon, and brothers Jack and George. Jean grew up on the family farm at Alexander. She attended the one room school Assiniboine, high school in Alexander and grade twelve at St. Michael's Academy in Brandon. She attended Brandon General Hospital and graduated as a register nurse. She nursed a short time at the Old Assiniboine Hospital. Then she decided to move to Spiritwood, Saskatchewan where she met her future husband. They lived in many places including Churchill and Yellow Knife and then decided to buy a farm at Alyalts, near Calgary. Jean loved the farm life and worked very hard helping Miles and her family. Because of failing health Jean had to move to a care home. She passed away March 5, 2021 with her loving family with her.
