JAMES (ROLLIE) BINNER
August 1932 - March 2021
Dad's greatest achievement in life was marrying his true love Evelyn. They've shared an amazing life of love, laughter and respect over 69 years.
Rollie's love and life lessons will live on with his children, Susan (Allan) Garvey, Murray (Debbie), Howie and Janet (Harvey) McCammon; his grandchildren, David (Tanya) Garvey, Mark (Alyssa) Garvey, Bruce Garvey, Angela (Chris) Stelmack, Aaron Binner, Andrew (Candice) Binner, Kari Binner, Alex Binner, John McCammon; and also his eight great-grandchildren.
Rollie was born in Ardill, Saskatchewan to Harry and Blanche, youngest of five fun loving, caring and kind boys. This provided a foundation for how he lived his life, valuing family and friends.
Rollie spent his working years in food sales; several years at Campbell Soup before establishing Binner Marketing and Sales. He earned the respect and friendship of so many during his career.
Ev and Rollie's ballroom dancing lessons were also the beginning of countless lifelong friendships. They enjoyed many beautiful vacations, often with friends or family. Hawaii, Florida, Greece and Europe were some highlights. Rollie was a huge sports enthusiast - Jets and Bombers fan, golfer and sideline referee at most of the games played by his children and grandchildren at the rink or on the field.
We invite you to join a Virtual Celebration of Rollie's rich life on Sunday, March 28 at 3:00 p.m. Condolences for the family and the Zoom link for the Celebration may be found at www.alternacremation.ca.
Should you choose, donations in Rollie's name may be made to either the Winnipeg Ostomy Association or CancerCare Manitoba.

My Condolences Ev to you and your family - I have had the good fortune to have known Rollie for as long as we have both worked in the food business. After we retired I looked forward and enjoyed the many luncheons he organized at his favorite restaurant The Olive Gardens where we reminisced about the good old days in the food industry. He was a great guy and a true gentleman. Glen Shaw, Canada Safeway - Posted by: Glen Shaw (Friend) on: Mar 28, 2021

My heart is sad to hear of the news of Rollie's passing! I met Rollie, while working with Evelyn at Dominion U Drive/Domo Gas. I just fell in love with Rollie, His smile, his laugh and Great sense of Humor. It was always a joy running into him and Evelyn at Costco and just chat and laugh. Our thoughts are with you Evelyne and your family. He was truly a lovely person. - Posted by: Liz and Scott Cardno (Friends) on: Mar 28, 2021

Dear Evelyn. Our heartfelt condolences go out to you and your entire family in the loss of such a great man. Rollie was truly one of a kind, he was incredibly knowledgable, non judgemental, sincere and had a great sense of humor. He was a beautiful soul with a kind heart, a gentle nature and always fun to be around. He will always be in our hearts as a wonderful human being. Our lasting memories will be his lovely, genuine smile and especially, remembering all the good times we had together with the E.K. Dance Club. The world was a better place with him and now there is a great void. May you draw comfort from memories of days gone by and be assured that our thoughts and prayers are with you, as it is never easy to lose a loved one.
