FABIAN: It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Dr. Anthony "Tony" J. Fabian at the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, MB on Sunday, March 28, 2021. Tony had a presence that was larger than life, pouring his heart and soul into family, community and his podiatry practice. He was a loving and dedicated father, full of wisdom, grace and guidance. For Tony's late wife of 52 years, Linda, his faithfulness and dedication to their wedding vows was an inspiration to all that knew him. He cared passionately for Linda with supernatural strength and endurance throughout her 32 year battle with multiple sclerosis. Tony was blessed to have three children and ten grandchildren whom he dearly loved, connected with and filled them with laughter and joy. Tony was predeceased by his wife Linda on February 10, 2021; father Ted and mother Babs. He is survived by his three children and ten grandchildren: Justin (Kim), Kaitlyn and Gillian Fabian of Kitchener, ON, Georgina (Bruce), Elizabeth, Sarah, Kate and William Hill of Lethbridge, AB and Jeremy (Toni), Ryder, Hunter, Emery and Brynn of Grand Prairie, AB; and brother Michael (Suzy) Fabian of England. Tony was born in London, England on March 18, 1949, and lived an adventurous life with his parents Ted and Babs Fabian and older brother Michael. They grew up in Wiltshire, England, North Africa, and then back to Devon and Somerset, England. Their North African experience was in Libya following World War II, where his father Ted had been stationed. Tony was a keen swimmer, loved his rugby (playing in Wales and Devon) and was a big fan of his motorbike years. He was always positive and great fun to be with. Tony thrived in his paratrooper training program in Aldershot, home of the British Army, where he learned to box, parachute from planes, and complete assault course training through swamps and climbing walls. Tony went to school at the University of Wales Institute: Wales Centre for Podiatric Studies to become a podiatrist and began his medical career working in Cardiff and Newport Wales. On March 22, 1969, Tony married Linda Alford, a dream come true, and they were never apart from that day forward. In 1974, Tony, Linda and their two children: Justin and Georgina, emigrated to Brandon, MB, where Tony set up his podiatry practice, Westman Foot Clinic, in the Clement Block on Rosser Avenue. In 1976, their third child, Jeremy, was born. Building a home on an acreage just outside of Brandon, Tony lived life to the fullest. He thoroughly enjoyed developing his acreage where he could build and fix just about anything. He also loved camping, fishing, skiing and gardening. Tony was a passionate, caring and dedicated podiatrist who always put his patients first. He served southern Manitoba for 41 years, travelling to many rural hospitals and care homes, as well as running his practice in Brandon until his retirement in December 2015. Tony was a vibrant community member with time spent with the Brandon Rotary Club, Brandon Light Horse Society, Virden Pony Club, St. Matthews Cathedral, St. George's Anglican Church, and was one of the founding members of the Brandon Vineyard Community Church. Tony's greatest accomplishment was his personal relationship with Jesus, the lover of his soul. Well done good and faithful servant. You have run the race that was set before you and are now in the presence of the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords. The heavenly celebration has begun.
