HOBBS: Diane Marie Hobbs,1937-2021. It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Diane on April 12, 2021 at the Deloraine Hospital at the age of 83 years old. Diane Marie Hobbs was born at the Deloraine Memorial Hospital on May 29, 1937, the daughter of George and Nellie Pepper. Diane received her education in Deloraine Elementary and Falconer Collegiate. She completed her Grade 12 in 1955 and went on to Brandon College for a year. Diane belonged to the Deloraine United Church and sang in the choir. She came back to Deloraine and on April 7, 1956 she married Jack Hobbs and they farmed in the Otter district. Together they raised 4 daughters, Brenda, Tammy, Roxy and Cindy and one son Clayton. Diane worked in the Bren Del Win Lodge for a year. In 1980 Diane enjoyed selling jeans from her home and continued to do this after they moved into a new house in town. She spent a lot of her time at the Deloraine Fair and following the racing circuit with their own Standardbred horses. She enjoyed curling in her school years and loved watching curling on TV and attending some curling events. Diane also enjoyed her flowers and her garden. Her pride and joy was her family, friends and her beloved dog Trixie. Diane is survived by Jack, her husband of 65 years; her children Brenda, Tammy (Wayne) and grandchildren Melissa, (Dustin); Roxy (Michael) and grandchildren Jordan (Chelsea) and Mandy (Hugh); Cindy (Kevin) and grandchildren Ryan, Lauren and Kerri; and grandchildren Jason (Laura) and Kendall (Mike); her great grandchildren Dylan, Nate, Camden, Justin, Bella, Braeley, Ainsley, Renae, Bennett, Lane, Kalia and Keaton. Diane is also survived by her brother Jackie Pepper (Pam) and family; brother-in-law Stewart Hobbs (Diane); Arley Hobbs and sister-in-law Marie Hobbs and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother and father George and Nellie Pepper, her son Clayton Hobbs, grandson Monty VanMackelberg, great grandson Hudson Hislop; brother-in-laws Gib (Audrey), Garnet and Sterling (Leone) Hobbs; and sister-in-law Delores Hobbs. A private service will be held April 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Smiths Funeral Home and interment will be held at the Del-Win Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family and friends may make a donation in Diane's memory to the Deloraine Health Centre, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or Canadian Cancer Society.
