Date of Passing: Apr 14, 2021Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or Memory
GERTRUDE LORRAINE SAMBORSKI
Gertrude was "small but mighty" and through her we know what persistence and acceptance looks like.
Gertrude will be greatly missed by her whole family and "friends like family". Grieving her immense loss are her children, Tim (Connie), Doug, Mark, and Joy (Peter); cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Corey, Jennifer, Brayden, Mitchell and Brayden, Tyler and Emmalee.
Gertrude leaves behind to mourn her loss her Buffie sisters, Ruthie, Rosemarie, Joyce and Marlene; her many adored nieces and nephews and special friends including all those that called her Auntie and G-Nanny.
Gertrude loved being surrounded by family and friends and was always "just so generous".
Gertrude was predeceased by her parents, Mary and John; her husband Bill after 49 years of marriage as well as siblings, Ernie, Charlie, Dorothy, Margaret, Ann, Hilda, Irene, Ede, Lena, Rudy, Johnnie and Albert, all to greet her with a loving embrace in her heavenly home.
Family wishes to impart their heartfelt gratitude for all of mom's care at Woodland Court where she resided for five years. It was possible for her to keep her independence thanks to the diligent and caring support by Selkirk-Interlake Homecare workers as well as the professional and compassionate care received by staff at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Palliative Care in Gertrude's memory at Interlake Eastern Health Region (IEHF.ca) or Palliative Care, Box 5000, 120 Easton Dr., Selkirk, MB, R1A 2M2.
A private funeral service will be held for immediate family members. The funeral and video tribute can be viewed on her obituary at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com anytime after April 25.
Condolences may be left on her tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com.
