ROSS: Bernice Wilma Ross (Guiboche), born January 21, 1968, was a most loved sister. She was an excellent teacher who inspired not only her students but her family and friends. Bernice peacefully passed on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the Selkirk Hospital age 53 years. Bernice will be remembered as an awesome, bubbly, and a very happy sister, aunty, cousin, and niece. She was uplifting to all, and a true friend. Anyone who knew Bernice would always know that she was nearby because she would be laughing the loudest, or even crying the loudest in the movie theatre. She easily and openly expressed her emotions and feelings. If she didn't say it, you could read it all over her face. She was so expressive. Bernice was a great role model for her many nieces and nephews. She was deeply spiritual and knew her Bible very well. You would often hear her saying, or texting, that "God is good!" She looked forward to Jesus' return on resurrection morning to redeem us and take us to heaven. Her 5 years of marriage to her greatest love, Alex Ross, before his untimely passing in 2005, were the best years of her life. She gained a wonderful mom and dad, Marilyn and Jerry Ross, when she married their son. We would have to say that being a teacher was a close second to the joys in her life. Bernice completed her Bachelor of Education at Brandon University. She was an excellent and passionate teacher who used music to inspire and teach her students. She changed many of their lives over the years. Many of her former students will remember her for years. Bernice is survived by her brothers Joe, children- Amanda, Peter Gordon and Miss Laura; Daniel (Gina), children-Tyson, Tannis, Danette, and Daniel J; and sisters Patsy Kutzner (Mike), children- Stephanie (Lola), Michael, Mikele; and Isabel Guiboche and Paris; in-laws Jerry and Marilyn Ross, children- Alison (Alexi, Colin, and Faith) and Maggie; and many God children, all her cousins, especially Elaine and Sherri. Her late brother Edward's children-Andrea, Anthea, Althea, and Andre and their families. All her nieces and nephews who were the most important part of her life. She prayed for their safety and well-being everyday. She would always end her prays with, "May the angels protect my babies." Bernice's loved ones who went before her are: dad, Lawrence Guiboche; mom, Laura Guiboche; several infant siblings; brother Edward Guiboche and sister-in-law Audrey Guiboche; grandparents, Daniel and Tamer Turner, Marie Nepinak, and George and Mary Beauchamp; nephew Lawrence George Guiboche, and Christopher George; numerous aunties and uncles, and especially her special Aunty Gerry. A small, private family service was held on April 30 at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Ashern, MB, and a public viewing was held at the Roman Catholic Hall in Grand Rapids on Friday, April 30 from 1 pm-6pm. Cremation has taken place, and a private graveside service will take place at a later date.
