GRANGER: Phyllis C. Granger of Brandon, MB passed away suddenly at her residence on Friday, May 14, 2021 at the age of 70. Her earliest childhood memories were of life in New Westminster, British Columbia. Phyllis always loved the mountains. BC remained home to her. She then moved to Manitoba with her family where life was harder, but many happy memories were made. Phyllis then moved to Brandon. She worked for over 40 years at Fairview Nursing Home. She made trips almost every weekend to Tilston to spend time with all of her family. However she did like to kick up her heels and have a couple of beverages with some of her life long friends. She also enjoyed watching hockey and the good Lord knows she loved playing the lottery! She had many plans for her winnings. Phyllis was loved by so many. When speaking of her life we have wondered if she knew how many lives she impacted, and how important she was to so many. We really hope so. In speaking with Angie (niece), she explained Aunt LaLa perfectly. She was, "everything Christmas to her." There is no better explanation of Phyllis and her life. Aunt LaLa, Philodendron, Figgy, Philly (and many more aliases) knew all of her 14 nieces and 5 nephews, great nieces and nephews. She even knew many of their friends and made fond memories with them as well. Phyllis loved to know what everyone of us was up to. She was extremely proud of her family and all that we accomplished. No matter how big or small the task. Her family extended far beyond her blood relatives. Extended family all referred to her as Aunt Phyllis. Phyllis always wanted to see everyone she loved exude happiness. She would do whatever she could to try to make that happen. Phyllis was beyond patient. She always had time for a never ending back scratch, hours of baking, her famous home made chocolates, or sitting having a cup of coffee. It was time well spent because it was making someone she loved happy. Phyllis is survived by her seven siblings, Gwen (Gary), Patricia (Barney), Gary (Shirley), Shirley (Marcel), Gail (Homer), Donna (Jack) and Georgina (Jim) and their families. She was predeceased by her parents, Roy and Pearl (Jones) Granger; nephews, Donald, Christopher and Vance; niece, Katie; brother-in-law, Gary Watson. To sum up Phyllis' life, one might state, "Take the time to make everyone feel like a someone. Make them smile, just sit and listen. Most of all love and be kind to others." LaLa we were so blessed to have you in our lives, to have been taught patience and kindness, and most of all love. Phil we will hold you in our hearts forever. That is exactly where you loved to be. In keeping with Phyllis' wishes, a formal funeral service will not be held. Donations in Phyllis' memory can be made to the Sally J.
