CARLISLE, Phyllis Marion. It is with sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother Phyllis Marion Carlisle on May 27, 2021, at the Souris Personal Care Home.
Phyllis was born February 23, 1939 to John and Jennet Sheane, in the farmhouse located in the RM of Archie, Willen MB. She was one of six siblings, three brothers and two sisters.
After attending Roselea School she moved to Souris as a teenager in 1955 to gain employment. There she met and married former husband Gerald Carlisle in 1957. They raised four children together.
After a brief move to Nipigon, ON then spending some years in Thompson, MB, they returned to Souris in 1977, where they opened and operated "Jerry's Foodmart".
Mom took great pride in always having a beautiful yard, always having it full of flowers. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and playing a game of cards with family. In her retirement years she enjoyed attending church and having coffee with her friends.
She is survived by her four children and seven grandchildren: sons, Delwin, Randy (Shannon and granddaughter Crystal), Robert (Tess, grandchildren Rebecca, Richelle and Zak) and daughter Lori (grandchildren Shane, Savanna and Paul) plus six great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sisters, Evelyn Mitchell and Alice Inkster and numerous relatives.
