RIDDELL: Dale Walter. It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Dale Walter Riddell on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at the age of 71 years. Dale was predeceased by his parents Herbert and Pansy Riddell, and his sister Shirley Wedge (Riddell). He leaves behind his loving wife Jennifer, son Kasey (Michelle), son Ashley (Laura), daughter Marsha (Reid); his grandchildren Dylan, Ella, Lucas, Piper, and Owen; and Brother Glen (Lillias) Riddell. He was born in Melita, Manitoba and was the youngest of three children. Dale spent his early childhood years on the family farm in Pierson. The family moved to Grosse Isle in 1962 where he attended Grosse Isle School and Warren Collegiate. Later on, they moved to Winnipeg where Dale graduated from Grant Park High School and attended Red River College. In 1970, the family moved back to Pierson where they continued to farm both the Pierson and Grosse Isle farms. In addition to farming for several winters, Dale made ice at Phoenix, Westdale, and Pembina Trail community clubs and later at the IcePlex. Two things he enjoyed very much, being on the farm and around the rink making ice. In June of 1975, Dale married Jennifer (Klein). Together they began a life and started a family that was always so incredibly full and rich with love and support. Dad and Mom loved spending their summers at Pierson and going for country drives, often ending up in Carnduff for ice cream. They enjoyed going to see movies together, not always agreeing on the same one, but they compromised. Together they provided our family with the greatest family getaways, and their loving banter and jokes back and forth will be cherished forever. Dale loved his family and close friends more than words could ever express. His kind, caring and tremendously supportive and generous heart, coupled with his great sense of humour, made him so very special. These qualities along with his smile and genuine respect for people made him such a welcoming person to all that met him. He really truly cared about people and what was going on in their lives. His common-sense approach, knowledge and wealth of experience were traits that we all relied on often and took comfort in. He was so creative and had a real passion for animals, something that he shared with Marsha growing up, and most recently with their dogs Andy and Ivy. Dad had such a special relationship and bond with his grandchildren and took a keen interest in absolutely everything they did. Whether it was discussing farming and sports with Dylan and watching him play his sports and helping his dad on the farm, baking and long talks with Ella, getting into mischief, telling jokes and playing games with Owen, doing carpentry with Lucas and watching him play hockey and baseball, or painting and colouring with Piper. He was so proud of them and excited to watch them grow. They meant everything to him, and we are so incredibly fortunate that Dad will live on in each of them.

We miss you so much
and you will live on in our hearts forever.
Thank you Dad (Dale),
for so many special years. Love, your family.

There will be a private function for the immediate family at a later date.
