RUDDICK: George Winston Bardel Ruddick, May 19, 1941 – June 12, 2021. Winston was born on May 19, 1941 to George and Irene Ruddick of Shoal Lake. He had one brother, Charles. He attended Shoal Lake School and resided his whole life in Shoal Lake, Manitoba. During school and after, Winston enjoyed curling. He enjoyed playing hockey and later enjoyed coaching his own son's hockey team. Winston was a perfectionist at work and at home. Each vehicle he owned was precious to him and had to be spotless. Winston first started working for Wilf Chegwin Construction Ltd. when he was 19 as a bookkeeper. He continued to do the same work when the company changed hands to Crush Rite Construction. In 1990, Winston changed jobs, working for the Department of Education, Pupil Transportation Division in Rivers, Manitoba. Winston retired in December 2006. Winston also served as people's Warden for 17 years at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Shoal Lake. Pat and Winston enjoyed travelling throughout their married life, their first trip being to Expo 67 in Montreal and Niagara Falls on their honeymoon. This was followed by years of camping. Some major family trips were to Disney World, Floria, Badlands and Mount Rushmore, South Dakota and Expo 86 in BC. For their 25th Anniversary in 1992, they went to Grand Canyon, Arizona and saw the Red Woods in California. 1997 was to four of the Hawaiian Islands, enjoying every minute! 2000 took them to the Maritime provinces, seeing the "Tall Ships" in Halifax harbor and Confederation Bridge to PEI. Other trips were to Vancouver Island and Playa Del Carmen and the Mayan Ruins. Retirement came December 31, 2006. 2007 and 2008 winters were spent in New Mexico and Arizona. After 2 years in Texas, Pat and Winston decided to buy a small place in Donna, Texas where 10 years of winters were spent making new friends and meeting up with old Manitoba friends – until Covid came along! Winston was predeceased by his parents, George and Irene and also his brother Charles. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, daughter Kristin (James) and son Kevin (Monica). He is survived by grandchildren Travis, Trent and Tanner, Natalie and Tyler. He is also survived by great grandchildren Brielle and Coulton and cousin Charles Ruddick in North Vancouver. Due to Covid-19, cremation has taken place and a service will occur at a later date.

Winston will be
greatly missed.
