BUSCH: Wendy Lynne (nee MacLachlan) passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at Valleyview Care Centre. Wendy was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on January 7, 1951. She grew up on a farm with her parents, two sisters and one brother, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins and an assortment of dogs, cats, horses, cows and chickens. After high school in Brownlee, she attended the University of Saskatchewan, where she obtained a degree in Pharmacy and worked in Regina and Maple Creek. When she moved to Brandon, she found work at West End IGA in the bakery. She continued in this profession as a Manager through Sobeys and Co-Op Marketplace. She was a hard worker, giving 110% of herself into anything she did. She had a mind of her own and was very independent but was also very private. After retirement, she moved for a few years to Rapid City so she could assist Faye and Linda at the Tea House and Gift Shop. She also had the time to pursue her interest in baking – to the immense delight of friends and neighbours who were the recipients of her magazine-worthy creations! Think chocolate mousse cake with chocolate ganache, cake with lemon curd filling and lemon icing, and cake pops!!! She was very artistic and this talent showed in her beautiful hand-made teddy bears, which family members will cherish. She loved all animals and aside from all our pets on the farm, her "children" over the years consisted of dogs, parrots – Barney, Joey, Sweetie and Patty, and Rudy, the 2nd floor cat at Valleyview Care Centre. In 2017, the battle with lifelong arthritis took a sinister turn and it was deemed that she needed ongoing assistance. She moved to Valleyview Care Centre where she eventually became a part of their unique family. She and Ada baked pies to sell to raise money for the resident van, she served on Resident Council and she assisted with numerous volunteer chores. Wendy was predeceased by her mom and dad Helen and Garath MacLachlan; grandparents Thomas and Mazel MacLachlan and Ernest and Lucia Cradock; brother-in-law Tim Finiak; sister-in-law Shanon MacLachlan; nephew Darren Neff; and niece Marnie Neff. Wendy will be lovingly remembered by her sister Faye MacLachlan (Ron Burnell); sister Janice Finiak; brother Robert (Nora) MacLachlan; nephews Ryan Neff, Jason (Melissa) Finiak, Kelly Finiak and Shain (Alison) MacLachlan; nieces Alissa Finiak and Kaily MacLachlan (Dan Green); great nephews Cameron MacLachlan, Landyn MacLachlan and Jayce Finiak; great nieces Brooklyn Anderson, Fallon MacLachlan, Harper Finiak and Ciara Finiak; and her good friend Alan Christie. Wendy will be laid to rest in Moose Jaw alongside her parents. Donations in memory of Wendy may be made to Valleyview Resident Council Van Fund, 3015 Victoria Avenue, Brandon, MB R7B 2K2 or Brandon Humane Society, 2200 17th Street East, Brandon, MB R7A 7M6.
