DONELDA JOY BRADLEY
(nee HOGABOAM)
She is survived by a large and loving family: her husband Kenneth Bradley, daughters, Janice May (Jim Campbell), Lauren Bradley (Gary Scull), Mavis Fraser (Bruce) and Sandra MacKay (Norman Roy), brother Wayne Hogaboam and sister-in-law, Irene Burd.
Happiest when in the presence of family, in particular with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joy was predeceased by her much loved granddaughter Nicole, brother Duncan, and sisters, Mavis and Dorothy.
She was born in Nipawin, Saskatchewan, then moved to Flin Flon, Manitoba where she fell in love at first sight, and married Ken 70 years ago which marked the beginning of their marvellous life together. Moving around every few years for Ken's work, they experienced the best that Canada had to offer along with stints in Monroe, Louisiana and Manila, Philippines. This led to a love of travel and adventure. Joy visited over 42 countries and enjoyed getting immersed in the culture of each destination, never one to turn down a new food experience! Our family trips to France, and in particular, her trips to Menton with her daughters are treasured memories.
Joy had many unique qualities. She was an exceptional mother, excellent seamstress (mainly to fuel her love of fashion and ensure her daughters were well attired!), an avid golfer, and bridge player. In the early years she enjoyed curling, and a summer hiking in the Swiss Alps! She loved socializing, she was an amazing cook and enjoyed hosting memorable dinner parties for family and friends.
A heartfelt "thank you" to the wonderful and kind staff at The Village of Arbour Trails, Dr. Urooj Chaudry, and RN Shannon Wood.
Join us as we smile, raise a glass and celebrate a life well lived and well loved.
For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or The Salvation Army.
