  • I am truly shocked to hear of Roy's passing. Being overseas, we had lost contact in recent years. Roy was an amazing person as I remember all the times he could make a joke to bring a smile when you felt down. My best memory was his loving kindness to bring Christmas gifts to my daughter. He was a man of integrity. It was a complete honor to work with him and be the friend he was to me after Ernest Green. Thank you Butch for all the fun and laughter. All sympathies to the family and loved ones. - Posted by: Marsha (Friend) on: Oct 08, 2021

  • Ken curled with Butch for years, but we really didn’t get to know him until we got a cottage at Grindstone. With Butch and Joyce building a cottage there we became fast friends. We enjoyed time on the beach in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. We looked most forward to 4:00 pm happy hours discussing the latest project, sharing good times and lots of laughs that often went well into the night. He will be greatly missed. • I was saddened to learn of Roy's passing. I first met Roy when we worked for the same company back in the '90's. Roy always had a smile on this face and a good story. Although I only saw him a few times a year back in those days he was always consistent, fun to be around and always a gentlemen. One of my best memories of Roy was the time a few of our work colleagues had a fishing/golf weekend at Rich Neufeld's cabin. Roy picked me up at the airport and drove me the two hours to the cabin and we had a blast. My thought's are with Roy's family and friends who are missing him. - Posted by: Gary Potter (Friend) on: Oct 04, 2021

  • My condolences to the Wright family. Roy and I worked together as suppliers to the printing industry for many years. - Posted by: Raymond Bakos (Friend/Colleague ) on: Sep 27, 2021

  • Roy I first met Roy many years ago. I was a customer and he was a printing plate specialist with Hoechst and later with Agfa. His knowledge, positive attitude, and great sense of humor impressed me then and this was a major influence later when I had the opportunity to hire Roy. Roy was a perfect fit for the Ernest Green team. It was like striking gold! If Roy was needed, day or night or weekends, you could count on him to look after his customers no matter what! Roy enjoyed his work and he enjoyed having fun even more. I can still see him after crashing his sled, laughing with his helmet full of snow! Always up for a good time. Will miss you buddy! - Posted by: John Krainicuik (Friend) on: Sep 27, 2021

  • Anyone who had Roy in their life was very fortunate. I had the pleasure of working with Roy for 16 years and being his friend for over 30 years. He excelled at dealing with people, his charm, combined with his easygoing nature, made him a natural in sales and the best partner to work with. Roy's quick wit and sense of humor made him someone you always wanted to be around, he always made things fun. He was always happy and positive and that rubbed off on people around him. He left us all with a lot of great memories, I think back on my time with Roy as "The Best of Times". We lost a giant, but are all better off for knowing him and having him in our lives. My condolences to Joyce and Roy's Family. Rich Neufeld - Posted by: Rich Neufeld (Friend) on: Sep 26, 2021

  • I met Butchy, some 42 years ago, on a Nicolett Bus Golf trip to Falcon Lake and our journey together ...started unfolding. It started with golf, and I can honestly say that I only beat him one time, just me and him, at Kingswood, a day when everything went right for me and wrong for him. After the game, we shook hands, high fived each other, and celebrated with a few cold beers. I can honestly say that, he was happier than I was. That's who Butchy was. Many more golf games ensued. and many more beers were had, throughout the years. Our hockey careers took us from multiple late night, weekday and weekend games. to playing in the Notredame Oldtimer Hockey League for some 30 years. We played together, me on left wing and Butchy on right wing. They floated a centreman through our line, and we were known as The "Bookends", and proud of it. I played with Butch, in multiple curling leagues, the M.C.A., and most notably the Nicolett Curling Club, where he was a long time treasurer and an outstanding Skip, for 35 years. Throughout the years, I have had the honor of his company, and the pleasure of just knowing him. He always laughed at my jokes, even if it was the 2nd or 3rd time he heard them, and I know my many stories, that I shared with him, in our time together, have occasionally brought a tear of elation to his eye. Now I cry for you, my friend, You go through life, hoping to meet that one special person, you can call your Best Friend. I was blessed with 2 best friends, and now they are both gone. I take solace in knowing that he is free of his pain, and in a better place. Rest in Peace....Best Buddies Forever. All our Love Ted Jodi Tyler and Maeghan. - Posted by: Ted Gauthier (Best Friend) on: Sep 25, 2021

  • Roy was an all round great person who always had a smile on his face. Popular guy for many years in the print business and always looked forward to our conversations. Thoughts and prayers. - Posted by: Keith (Mac) McLennan (Friend) on: Sep 25, 2021

  • He was a man that when you met him he would draw you in. Very real, likeable, and when you became friends he was in it for the long haul. Our Fri curling team will be staying with the Roy Wright team this year as a tribute to the avid curler he was, and also taking up his favourite beverage. Lab Lite, for the first round anyway. We were friends for many years and curled together forever. He had an awesome sense of humour and loved to tell a joke, followed by that infectious laugh. Always a smile and so much fun to be around. Our condolences to Joyce and the entire family. We share your pain in his loss. Don and Debbie Head - Posted by: Don Head (Friend) on: Sep 25, 2021
