LORETTA PHYLLIS LIVESEY
(nee BUSCH)
September 11, 1935 - September 11, 2021

It is with sadness, we announce the passing of Loretta Phyllis Livesey on September 11, 2021 from heart related issues at the age of 86 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Phyllis lived her final days with courage and fortitude while facing life's challenges.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Suzanne Livesey, Dale Livesey, Leanna Prudhomme; her grandchildren, Kelly-Anne Calisto (Shawn), Shannon-Lee Livesey, Logan Livesey, Jeremiah Pliche, Joshua Prudhomme; great-grandchildren, Hunter Livesey and Jonathan Calisto as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She will also be greatly missed by her sister Marlene Clint of Surrey, BC.
Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, Phillip and Annie Busch; brothers, Delbert, Lorne, Dennis and Bob Busch.
Phyllis was born in 1935 in McNutt, Saskatchewan. She went to school in Alameda and worked doing housekeeping and cleaning. In her early 20's she worked for Eaton's store. Phyllis was married in Winnipeg, MB and lived the military lifestyle spending years as a homemaker and raising her children. As a single mother, raising three kids and learning job skills Phyllis persevered. She worked at administrative jobs and eventually worked as a homecare worker from which she retired.
Mom had a hard life, but a life well lived. She was determined to be as independent as possible. Phyllis was immensely proud of her family and affectionately known as "Granny". She had an extensive recipe collection and took great pride in sharing her baking and cooking with family and friends. She enjoyed sewing and making clothes. Over the years Mom was a member of the Legion, different social clubs and activities, including darts, bowling, bingo, bridge, ballroom and square dancing, where she won many trophies and made many friends. Mom had a special compassion and devotion for animals. Especially the cats she loved, nurtured, protected, and cared for throughout her life. This passion has been passed down to her children who continue to care and love the various felines in our lives.
Mom cherished her friends and the friendships she had, some of her friends having been lifelong. Mom greatly enjoyed family and friends' company, whether it was on the phone or going for coffee. Thank you to all those who called her on her birthday and let her know she was loved, and cared for before she died.
Mom was very close to her sister Marlene, and even though you couldn't tell Mom anything, they would always stand up for each other. Marlene called and wished Mom a "Happy Birthday", on September 11, not knowing Mom would pass away that evening. Dale had also phoned Mom that morning, not knowing…. Mom was so looking forward to seeing Dale. Even though they talked frequently she had not seen him in eleven years. She constantly worried about him and was overjoyed he was coming up from Washington, USA. Even though Dale had tried to arrange a flight to Winnipeg, they were cancelled, numerous times. Dale finally arrived on September 13, but sadly Mom had passed.

In honour of Mom, we will recognize her spirit, devotion, passion and resilience of having done it her way.
Thank you to Dr. A. Mohammed for his kindness and professional care. Also thank you to the Homecare Team from Access Winnipeg West for their help and commitment to Mom's health. Thank you to the St. James Kiwanis Court Staff as well as the Gray family for their support.
Cremation has taken place and in compliance with Phyllis' wishes no service will be held.
