DOUGLAS ANDREW RICHARDSON
October 27, 1930 - October 5, 2021
Born in Virden, Manitoba, he grew up in Woodnorth, Manitoba and attended Brandon College and the University of Manitoba, graduating with a BSc in Chemistry. While finishing university Doug started his extensive career in the oil industry with Hawk Drilling in Saskatchewan and then Dowell Chemicals. In 1963 he joined Nowsco Well Service and was instrumental in creating a formidable international well servicing company. Doug loved building Nowsco into a trusted brand and knew that each employee played a dynamic role in the overall success of the company. Christmas morning, after presents were opened with his family, he would phone all the shops to wish everyone a Happy Holiday. Nowsco staff were very important to him.
Doug is survived by his wife of 67 years, Frances Richardson, daughters, Nola (Tom Staines), Joann Bell, Laura (Tracey Wallace), Sharon (Wil Wolitski); grandchildren, Sydney (Sean Crowe), Douglas (Chad Pitura), Madison (Peter Baartman), Bailey; and great -grandchildren, McKinnley and Blakley.
