PHYLLIS LORETTA SIMARD
(Big Momma)
1954 - 2021

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt Phyllis Loretta Simard, on October 27, 2021.
Phyllis was predeceased by her son Melvin, parents, Dickie and Isabel Simard, sister Catherine, in-laws and uncle Aylmer. Momma leaves to mourn her husband of 48 years Clem, sons, Jonathan, Corey (Erin), Sheldon and Clem Jr. (Amy) and daughter Bucky; brothers, Harold, Lloyd, Floyd, JC, sisters, Dolores (Perry), Roberta, Jean and Shirley (Barry), grandchildren, Rhiannon, Cash, Kianna, Reese, Ducky, Ben, JJ, Kenina, Alymer, Aurora, Kevin, Sophia, Drew, Cora, Kaizer and Kameron, special aunt Beatrice, numerous nieces and nephews, who all loved her so much.
Big Momma had a big heart and opened her home to many hockey players over the years whom she loved as her own. She was also a huge Jets fan. You would find her on Jets game nights sitting with her sons and brother Harold; cheering on Jets with her boys, teasing at times making her rugged. Mom worked as an alcohol counsellor for the Alcare Centre for many years, where she made lifelong friends. Mom also worked as an agency driver with Sagkeeng Child and Family Services, she transported children and families for 14 years.
Family would like to thank the Dialysis Team of Pine Falls Hospital as well as the medical team of nurses and doctors in Asper 5 St. Boniface Hospital.
Wake service is being held at her residence, Sagkeeng First Nation, MB from October 29 to November 1, 2021; funeral service will be held at St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church, Sagkeeng First Nation, MB on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. with final viewing at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the church at a later date.
