EWANYSHYN: Jean Hominick Ewanyshyn (neé Dushnicky). It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and baba. Jean Elizabeth Ewanyshyn passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022, at the age of 94 years. Jean was born in Oakburn, Manitoba on June 20, 1927 to Harry and Nellie Dushnicky. Her early life was spent on the farm in Oakburn until moving to Brandon in 1948. Jean married Harry Hominick on August 6, 1948. From this union they were blessed with two children: daughter Patricia Wentzell and son Brian Hominick. Jean is survived by her children: Patricia and Brian; grandchildren: Frank Green (Hillcrest, AB), Tarrah Wentzell, Jazmine Wentzell, Julie Hominick, Trevor Hominick; special friend, Lance Green; great-grandchildren: Justin (Kathy) Green; great-great- grandchildren, Adrian and Arianna Green, Natashia (Shawn) Stoddart, Patrick Wayne Stoddart, Tia and Kimberley Green, Kody (Felicity), Landon Green, Brenyn Green, Danikah Green, Aurora Green, Brooklyn Wentzell and Gabrielle Wentzell; sister in law, Marie Folmes; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jean was predeceased by her parents Harry and Nellie Dushnicky; brothers: Mike (Rose) and Peter (Helen); twins Paul and Orest Dushnicky; sisters: Mary, Myrtle and Ann Dushnicky, Irene and Bill Illchuk; nieces: Rhonda Francis and Judy Illchuk, Alfred and Grace Hackenschmidt and granddaughter Patricia Green. Jean was a loving, caring person and very generous to her family. Her grandchildren dearly loved her. Her family will have many memories to cherish. A Funeral Service for Jean will be held at Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. In compliance with Manitoba Health proof of vaccination will be required to attend.
