BERNICE LUCILLE PEABODY
Peacefully, with her family by her side, Bernice passed away on February 5, 2022, at the age of 82 years.
Bernice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend to many. She was born to Walter and Jessie Tennyck on September 12, 1939, in Winnipeg.
She is survived by her loving son Timothy (Kim) and predeceased by her husband Roy and her beloved daughter Tamara (Andrew).
Bernice cherished her time with her grandchildren that she adored. Nana will be missed by Drew (Tamara/Andrew), Jack and Ellie (Timothy/Kim). She enjoyed her time with Drew as he grew into a wonderful young man and loved her trips to Toronto to visit with Jack and Ellie.
Bernice had so many laughs and great adventures with her dear sister Darlene (Ron), her nieces, Michelle and Trina and her nephew Ryan. Aunty Bernzie enjoyed visits, letters and hugs from all of her great-nieces and nephews; Braiden and Jaylee (Michelle), Emerson, Arielle and Xavier (Trina/Norbert), Jaxson and Joey (Ryan/Angela).
Bernice enjoyed many adventures with her close friends over the years. From travels across the world with Tammy's ringette team, casino trips, camping trips and adventures at the trailer in Spruce Sands.
Bern, Bernzie, "Lovely" was always there for a heart-to-heart. To hear the "news" and share a coffee with Tim and Tammy's friends. Bernice always listened, never judged, celebrated every accomplishment and was present and supportive during challenging times.
The simplest pleasures brought Bernice the greatest joy. Tea with Tamara, baking a pie for Andy, lunch with friends... She never needed or wanted much, just the comfort of home and the love of her family.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the 4th floor EAL staff at River Ridge Retirement Residence for their kindness, compassion, and care. We would also like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their support and compassion during her final days.
Due to Covid restrictions a private service will be held for family and friends.

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs Peabody. I was friends with her daughter, Tamara whom I'd met through a support group. Mrs Peabody was so sweet and welcoming the few times that I met her at the Walk of Hope. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Rachel Norton (Other) on: Feb 17, 2022
