JOHN KIZLIK (JOHNNY)
Date of Passing: Feb 09, 2022Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or Memory
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of John Kizlik, on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, just shy of his 91st birthday.
He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years Marine (Elsie); his parents, Annie and Alexander Kizlik; brothers, Mike, Paul, Tony and Steve; sisters, Mary, Jean, Nellie, Helen and Josephine.
In his early years, he was a heavy equipment operator, and loved to share his stories about how he helped in the construction of the floodway and the racetrack in his hometown of Beausejour.
He and Elsie enjoyed going out for drives and finding the next best restaurant to have dinner. Johnny also enjoyed meeting up with his friends to sit down for coffee and discuss the latest things going on in the world. He also enjoyed the weekly Clipper paper and the challenge of a jigsaw puzzle. He was proud once he had each one complete.
He retired working at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, and said it felt like home when he moved in there a couple years ago. He enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends on the phone, and many will miss his daily or weekly updates.
He was a gentle, happy man who never asked for much. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 16, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., West St. Paul, MB. Those attending need proof of vaccination and photo ID.
As per John's wishes, cremation will follow and a private interment will be held.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Middlechurch Home for their care and compassion.
