ELIO SPAGNUT
April 7, 1932 – February 11, 2022

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Elio, Husband, Father, Zio and Nonno, on February 11, 2022 at the age of 89.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maria; daughter Nancy (Robert); grandsons, Evan and Owen; nephew Larry and niece Tamy (Glenn)
Elio left Italy at the young age of 20 to start a new life in Canada. He settled in Winnipeg after marrying Maria, where they lived, worked and made their home. Elio worked most of his life as a carpenter to support his wife and daughter. Throughout the years, Elio helped construct many different types of buildings including his home, where he and Maria raised their one and only daughter Nancy.
Elio was known throughout his neighbourhood for his handy skills and riding his beloved bike. Elio's great passion was gardening, which he took great pride in. Every summer his backyard would be filled with fruits and vegetables, that he would never hesitate to share with friends and neighbours.
Elio was a truly gentle man with a kind soul who cared for everyone. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital for the compassionate care given.
A private family funeral will be held February 19 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul.
