JOSEPH ZAGAJA
Peacefully after a lengthy illness, it is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Joseph Zagaja at 95 years of age on Friday, February 25, 2022 at The Convalescent Home after a short stay.
Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Mary Baran; parents Jacob and Katarzyna and his twin sister Maria. He also had a sister Zofia and brother Jan. Survived by his daughter and many nieces and nephews.
Born in Poland on August 16, 1926, he was taken to Germany during the war to work in a factory. After the war he was a Military policeman with the U.S.A. Forces. He moved to Australia and lived there for five years.
Joseph came to Canada in 1954 and married Mary Baran. He worked for CN Railway for many years. He knew carpentry and was a handy-man and helped many people. He had a garden and grew vegetables including a lot of juicy tomatoes.
Funeral services will be held at Holy Ghost Parish at 342 Pritchard Avenue with viewing at 9:30 am and Mass at 10:00 am with Interment at Holy Ghost Cemetery on Friday, March 11, 2022.
