ROBERT FRANCIS NEWHOUSE (BOB)

NEWHOUSE, Robert Francis (Bob) passed away on November 9th, 2021 at Rideau Park Personal Care Home in Brandon at the age of 89 years. Bob was born in Rapid City, Manitoba on August 31 1932, the first child born to Beatrice and Frank Newhouse. He is survived by his three children: Terry (Linda) Newhouse, Darlene (Jeff) Monson, and Cindy (Jeff) Pitt. Grandchildren: Tarren and Callie Newhouse, Dawn Monson and Kyle Pitt. Great grandchildren: Asher Newhouse, Layla and Raymond Pitt. Sister Nora Lappin and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Beatrice and Frank Newhouse, brother Ken Newhouse and wife of 53 years Maxine. A year after Bob and Maxine were married they moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, then returned a short time later to their hometown Brandon. He owned and operated many businesses (Bob's Safety Service") for over 50 years together with his wife Maxine. There were gas/ service stations, car dealerships (Datsun, Austin, Toyota), Honda motorcycles and Newhouse Engine. In his younger years he (motorcycle) hill climbed and as time went on he was involved with rally cars, but then his real passion was building and racing stock cars. In dad's later years he enjoyed going to dances, playing pool, attended car shows and was seen cruising around in his red Corvette which he treasured. The Funeral Service was held at Brockie Donovan Chapel on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 with Shelley Wray officiating. Private interment was in the Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were: Ken Turner, Norm Mills, Rick Blaine, Don Ditchfield and Daniel Mosterd.
