JOSEPH AGOSTINO
June 15, 1949 - March 30, 2022

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, peacefully at home with his family by his side.
Predeceased by his mother Angela, father Stefano, brother Santo, and sisters, Amy and Kathy.
Left to survive his loving wife Gail; daughters, Jean, Dena (Terry), Amanda; and granddaughters, Alexis and Taylor; brothers, Frank (Joyce) Rocco, Bert (Wendy), Tino (Nancy), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe had been married for 42 years, and together with his wife raised three amazing daughters.
The simplest pleasures in life brought him the most joy. He enjoyed golfing, watching sports, and travelling with his wife.
His love and devotion to his wife, daughters, and granddaughters, was apparent to everyone that knew him. His lively and cheerful personality was contagious to everyone he met.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses at CancerCare Manitoba, and the WRHA palliative care nurses, who cared for Joe at home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
A service and reception will be held on Monday April, 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., at Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul.

  • Gail, was so sorry to hear about Joe. I still get together with Morven once a year and she told me she sees you often. It's hard to believe our time working at the airport was 45 years ago! Take care Sandy (Veert) Cole. - Posted by: sandra cole (friend) on: Apr 12, 2022

  • We were shocked and saddened to hear of Joe's passing. Joe was one of the nicest people we knew, and it was obvious that he was a great dad as well. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. - Posted by: Ken and Regine Kublanski (Inlaws) on: Apr 07, 2022

  • To Gail and the Girls: We are so sorry to hear of your loss of Joe. We still remember the time we brought our boy Casey over to the house. He enjoyed his new playmates and we enjoyed the company and laughter with Gail and Joe, and of course a few bevies. Gail, you were the love of his life. You could tell by the way he treated you with respectfulness, kindness, loving and of course making wisecracks. Girls, both your mom and dad always shared updates on what was happening with you all. To them, you were their first priority. Thinking of you all during this sad time. Although sometimes life can become hectic, and you wished you stayed in touch more, always believe you were loved and thought about by us. With Love, Cheryl & Robin. - Posted by: Margaret Drylick (Friend) on: Apr 06, 2022

  • Joe was the most friendly neighbour one could imagine! He always had time to talk about his grandchildren and the progress of our gardens. He especially was a wonderful friend to my dog Teddy. He showed Teddy love each time they met from the time Teddy was only a couple months old. Joe and Gail raised their daughters to show the same caring and friendliness to all of their neighbours. Teddy and I will miss Joe. - Posted by: Karen Guenther (Neighbour ) on: Apr 06, 2022

  • Deepest condolences to Joe's family. I have been one of Joe's neighbors for 4 decades. I never got to know him well but when we passed by each other there was always a friendly wave and perhaps a few words about the weather or the state of the world. I also remember Joe from the paint dept. at Sears. I could always tell family was Joe's main focus. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Rod Giese (neighbor) on: Apr 05, 2022
