ANNELIESE ILSE HELGA PENNER
(nee GAEDKE)
February 11, 1933 – March 31, 2022

With heavy hearts, we would like to announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother.
Anneliese was born February 11, 1933 in Salzwedel, Germany, and immigrated to Canada on April 1, 1958. Settling with her husband John, first in Steinbach and later in Winnipeg, she was proud to raise her three children and lavish them with her handknit sweaters and other handicraft projects. Later, once the children had grown, she started working for Home Care and was proud of starting a second career.
Anneliese was predeceased by her husband John, with whom she was married for 51 years, as well as her daughter Janyce and her parents and brothers in Germany. She leaves to mourn, her daughter Ruth with Christian and her son Rainer, as well as her grandchildren, Lukas and Svenja.
The family wishes to thank Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home for giving Anneliese her home away from home.
A quiet family service was held for Anneliese at Glen Eden Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anneliese's name to Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home, 1045 Concordia Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2K 3S7.
