MCAULEY, Mildred (Mig) 1924 – 2022 After a passionate lifetime of journey, Mildred passed away Monday, April 18, 2022. Mig, as she was known, was born in Pelly, SK. She was predeceased by her parents Wesley and Sadie Ellwood, her sisters Marianne Lamb and Beatrice Catt, brothers Fred and William Ellwood and husband Norman McAuley. Her spiritual athletic journey began when she arrived on the wintry scene and continued through her life. At school she won many ribbons in track and field. She was a member of the Brandon Tennis Club, Ladies Fastball, Senior Slow Pitch, Ladies Curling Club, the Bowling Club and the Altona Ladies Floor Curling. Her marriage journey with Norman McAuley began in 1949 and ended with his death in 1963. Her career journey began in 1942 where she was employed at T.C.A. in the propeller shop. Realizing that when the war ended, she wouldn't have a job, she left to teach on permit for one and one half years. This was followed by attending Normal School and resulted in 36 and one half years of teaching in rural, village, town, city and DND schools. Retirement with aches and pains, broken wrists and sore knees sent her on a journey to Altona to be with family. Her family wishes to thank the staff at Emerson Personal Care Home and the citizens of Altona for their kindness and compassion. Mildred is survived by her daughter Tan and son-in-law Glen Robinson, grandson Todd and wife Erika, great-granddaughters Ella and Olivia of Victoria, numerous nieces and nephews of the Catt family from Treherne and Hamilton and the McAuley families from McAuley. Cremation has taken place with burial at a later date.
