RICKY HENRY GEZA WIENS

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Ricky Wiens, aged 32, on April 16, 2022.
Ricky was born in Winnipeg on July 30, 1989. He was drawn to video games and computers which led him to a Computer Science Degree from the University of Manitoba. He was a kind and loving partner to his wife Michelle, as well as an amazing father to their children, Hazel and Emmett. In his spare time, he loved to golf, play video games, read, and drink craft beer.
In addition to his wife and children, Ricky is also survived by his parents, Richard and Sheila Wiens, sister Miranda Wiens and brother Jared Wiens.
A reception will be held on Sunday, May 1 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club (940 Vimy Road). Please join us to reminisce and honour Ricky's life.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital (8A) for their care and compassion.
Please send memorial donations to Harvest Manitoba and consider donating blood.

Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • He was better than me at what I did for a living, and he enabled me to do what I do for a living. I've never been happier to work for someone and never had someone direct me professionally. Sounds like workspeak but I mean it. Outside of that, hope your family finds all the beauty you'd wish for them. - Posted by: Graydon J Green (Friend) on: Jan 17, 2023

  • Ricky and I shared many memories together from our teen years. It’s hard to pick just one, however, we had so much fun when we went to Ricky’s family cabin. Ricky and his family were so warm, welcoming and hospitable. He took me snowmobiling for the first time, We are great homemade food, and enjoyed spending time with his large family. Ricky was a very talented trumpet player and we performed at many venues together, from Brandon university, to galas, to the Juno awards. We had a shared appreciation for Jazz music, one piece we played that feature his talents was ‘A Night in Tunisia’, we had a gig on a morning television show where he performed the lead part. He was always so confident and played beautifully. My deepest condolences to Sheila, Rick, Miranda, Jared, Michelle, Emmett, and Hazel as well as his extended family. May he be at peace now. - Posted by: Ashley pooley (Friend ) on: Apr 28, 2022
